Some recent studies have found people report a higher level of vitality, enthusiasm, pleasure and self-esteem, and a lower level of tension, depression and fatigue, after they have walked outside. People who exercise outside also say they are more likely to exercise again than those who stay indoors.
And, people who exercise outside do it more often, and for longer, than those who work out indoors.
So during the day, I have to make an effort to go outside in the fresh air and daylight. If I don't, by the end of the day, I notice it. I feel sluggish and quite lethargic.
I had to keep reminding myself to breathe, deeply and calmly. Butterflies were churning in my stomach. It is so hard being outside your comfort zone, outside the safety of what you know and feeling a little uncomfortable. Not knowing the outcome. But if I hadn't have stepped myself outside of my comfort zone on Sunday, I wouldn't have been able to experience Aerial Yoga. I wouldn't have tried something new.
