Gaining 30kg onto my already 'unhealthy' body during my first pregnancy and not losing much before my second pregnancy was a massive wake up call for me.

Midnight feeds, chasing an active toddler, sleep deprivation and a body that wasn't in any shape to be up to the task really took its toll on me. And, natch, I had a 'light bulb' moment while up doing an overnight nappy change. 

I didn't have to keep giving up my body and my health for my children. In fact, they NEEDED me to look after my body and my health.

So, the very next day, that's exactly what I set out to do! 

I took the VERY SCARY first step into a gym class. I set myself up in the very back corner so that no one could see me. But I kept it up. And slowly I started to actually enjoy it. I started to make friends in the class. Suddenly, I wasn't the only Mum going through what I was going through. There were others!

Since that first, daunting class, I've stepped back onto the netball court, back onto the tennis court, completed a half-marathon, done the long Run For The Kids Course and many obstacle courses. The world of activity is now my oyster and I love every minute of it!

And I want you to get to experience the same. I will help you rebuild your strength, rebuild your body's function and rebuild your confidence. Together, we can do this!

"Theresa Prior is a Westmeadows mum and passionate about your health and fitness. She gets it!

Finding time for your own health and fitness is so important during the first few years (and beyond) of motherhood. But so often we put ourselves last. It can be hard to find a suitable time and environment for exercise as a mother of young children.

At a Theresa Prior Personal Training Outdoor Group Fitness Session, the focus is on you and your health! We meet at the Westmeadows Community Centre (Ardlie St) and at the Harricks Crescent Reserve (near Westmeadows PS) and children of all ages are welcome along. Our sessions encompass all aspects of postnatal (and beyond) exercise needs - from core strength + conditioning and promotion of postnatal abdominal rehabilitation, to cardio and functional training.

But most importantly, our members are mums and women - just like you!"

Theresa Prior is a qualified Personal Trainer (Cert III + IV: Victorian Fitness Academy 2013) with a specialised qualification in Post-Natal Assessment + Functional Exercise Prescription (Burrell Education, 2017).

She is also a qualified Outdoor Education teacher (B. Ed. (Outdoor Education): Victoria University 2004).

She is a registered exercise professional with Fitness Australia - rest assured that all professional industry standards are being met at all times.
